Rudolf the Black Cat

Rudolph is a black cat living with his beloved master Rie in Gifu. One day, Rudolph goes after Rie when she leaves the house for a delivery, but he unexpectedly ends up on a long-distance truck and arrives at Edogawa Ward in Tokyo. Being in an unknown place, the confused Rudolph meets Ippaiattena, the neighborhood boss cat, and starts life as a stray cat. Based on the bestselling children’s novel, this touching story of encounter and separation of cats is presented in full 3DCG animation.

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

Having hitched a ride on a long-distance truck, Rudolph arrives at Kitakoiwa in the Edogawa city of Tokyo, which is also the the birthplace of the title's original author Saito Hiroshi. Full of quaint, small-town feeling, a number of areas are the inspiration for the locales in the title, such as the shopping area near the Keisei Koiwa Station, the Kami-Koiwa Shinsui Green Path with a small, calm brook that flows south to north, and more. In addition, at facilities such as the Komatsugawa Sakaigawa Shinsui Park (as pictured), the Shizen Zoo, and the Sogo Recreation Park, visitors can enjoy plenty of natural scenery.
