Yokote City Masuda Manga Museum

Yokote City (Akita Pref.) is the birthplace of Mr. Takao Yaguchi, a comic artist whose original comic series, “Fisherman Sampei,” started a nationwide fishing boom in Japan back in the 1970s to the ‘80s. Today, the artist is the honorary director of this museum. In May 2019, the museum went through a complete remodeling, and now it displays the history of comic-related culture and original drawings of renowned comic artists while emphasizing their preservation and utilization as a guardian of “original comic drawings.”
