Yurie is an ordinary junior high school student. Suddenly one day, she becomes a goddess, but has no idea what sort of goddess she has become. With the help from her good friends Mitsue and Matsuri, Yurie starts to explore the power she possesses. However, she unintentionally generates a typhoon in the waters around Japan with her divine power, putting her crush Ninomiya in danger… This is a fantasy anime that depicts the struggles of the first junior high schooler goddess in history.

The city of Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, where the anime is set, is a city of slopes that faces the Seto Inland Sea. It has attracted great attention in recent years for the number of cats that wander its alleys. Between the eastern side of Ushitora Shrine and the three-storey pagoda of Tennei Temple lies a 200-meter narrow alley called “Neko no Hosomichi” (Cat’s Trail). Strolling through the alley, you will find 108 cats drawn on stones. They are called the “blessing stone cats”, masterpieces by the painter Sonoyama Shunji. Mr Sonoyama has also opened the “Onomichi IHATOV: The Lucky Cat Gallery in Onomichi”, another irresistible spot for cat lovers.
