LAID-BACK CAMP series

The film version of the ‘LAID-BACK CAMP’ series, which is driving the outdoor boom, is a story about five people who graduated from high school and are now living separately in different parts of Japan, but who come together again.

Rin Shima has left her hometown of Yamanashi, and is living alone after finding work at a small publishing company in Nagoya. One weekend, while she is planning a touring trip, she suddenly receives a message from her high school friend, Chiaki Ogaki.

“I’m in Nagoya right now.”

Chiaki, who works for the Yamanashi Tourism Organization, is in charge of a redevelopment project for a facility that was closed down several years ago. Then Rin made a casual remark:

“If it’s such a large site, why not turn it into a campsite?” Hearing this, Chiaki gets moving. Nadeshiko Kagamihara works at an outdoor store in Tokyo, Aoi Inuyama is a primary school teacher in her hometown of Yamanashi, and Ena Saito works at a pet grooming salon in Yokohama. The past campmates gather together, and the campsite development project gets underway.

The curtain rises on a story about five outdoor girls who meet at a campsite, and challenge what they are now able to do.

LAID-BACK CAMP Season 3 began airing in April 2024.

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

The main Nagoya City Hall, completed in 1933 (8th year of Showa), is a modern building with a Japanese-style tiled roof. It features a Western architectural style with a Japanese design, making it a building of high architectural value. The clock tower in the centre of the building is topped by killer whales glaring in all directions, a design that is in harmony with Nagoya Castle.
