Ghost Cat Anzu

During a thunderous downpour, a monk at a temple found a kitten purring inside a cardboard box. The kitten was named “Anzu,” and was raised carefully.

Time passed, and Anzu-chan, oddly enough, became a “monster cat” that speaks human language and lives like a human. His means of transportation is a moped, and he works as a part-time masseur

He is now 37 years old.

Then Tetsuya, the son of the monk, who had been missing for a long time after a quarrel between father and son, returns to the temple with his 11-year-old daughter Karin. However, he has another fight with the monk, and leaves her behind. Karin is always well-behaved in front of adults, but when Anzu-chan is asked to take care of her, he finds out that she is just pretending to be good, and thinks she’s a nuisance.

Karin continues to wait, believing Tetsuya’s words at the time of their separation, “I will come back on the anniversary of your mother’s death,” but he never comes back. Unable to fulfill even her modest wish to pray in front of her mother’s grave, Karin makes a wish to Anzu: “Please let me see my mother.”

From a single wish, a hell-bound getaway drama begins.

This unprecedented anime film is set in various regions of the Izu Peninsula, and features a team of talents that transcend genres and countries.
