The latest project of works of various media mixes such as manga and novels based on sound novels. The stage is Hinamizawa Village, which is surrounded by nature away from the city center. Keiichi Maebara, a transfer student, arrives at Hinamizawa Village, which was supposed to sink to the bottom of a dam, but still remains the same as it used to be. Keiichi, who came from the city, gradually blended into his life in Hinamizawa Village and spent a peaceful time with his friends. However, the village festival, Watanagashi, which is held once a year, changes his idyllic daily life and a tragedy unfolds.

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

Located in the northwestern part of Gifu prefecture, Shirakawa Village was once said to be an unexplored region as one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan. Ogimachi area where you can see Gassho-style houses in such a heavy snowfall environment, was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site in 1995 as “Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama”. Known as a world-famous tourist destination, this place is said to be “the original scenery of Japan”. Once you step into it, you feel a nostalgic atmosphere, and in winter you can see a magnificent view surrounded by snow.
