Getting up in the morning, preparing for school, going to school, attending classes, participating in extra-curricular activities, hanging out with friends… The everyday life of the second-year junior high school student Yuki Yuna is as ordinary as any. But if there is one really extraordinary thing to say about Yuna, it is that as her extra-curricular activity she belongs to the Hero Club. What does the Hero Club do? Who are the mysterious beings “Vertex”? This anime tells the story about the girls in the 300th year of the Era of the Gods.

This anime is set in the city of Kanonji in western Kagawa Prefecture, Shikoku, a region abundant with lettuce and iriko dried baby sardines. Famous tourist attractions include Fudasho Temple 68 and 69 of the Shikoku Pilgrimage ―― Jinnein and Kannonji Temple ―― and Ibukijima Island. For those who are fans of Japanese historical dramas, a famous place to visit is the coin-shaped sand sculpture called “Zenigata Sunae” (as pictured), which was used as the background image of the title sequence for the drama Zenigata Heiji. The huge sand coin sculpture resembles the ancient coin “Kanei Tsuho”. It is said that anyone who sees this sand coin will be blessed with both good fortune and wealth.
