“Animate Ikebukuro Main Store” will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2023 with a grand re-opening on March 16, after its renewal. Please come to the re-opening of the world’s largest anime store.

Highlights of “Toshima-ku, Tokyo”, an anime sacred spot
Hareza Ikebukuro, a commercial complex, opened in 2020 as a symbol of Toshima Ward, an area known for its culture, arts and subcultures. The facility has eight theatres of various sizes, including the TOHO Cinema Ikebukuro, Tokyo Tatemono Brillia Hall for musicals, plays and traditional performing arts, and Harebutai, a live theatre. There is also a wide choice of shops and restaurants, making it an easy-to-use facility for a variety of different occasions. The exterior of the Animate Ikebukuro main store is similar to that of Hareza Ikebukuro, thus giving a sense of unity to the area.
