Set in the fictional town of Lake Kiriya in Hokkaido Prefecture, this is a fantasy teen drama. One day, a mysterious saucer appeared over Lake Kiriya, attracting the concern of the entire world, yet the saucer simply remained afloat and dormant. Seven years have passed, people’s wariness of the saucer had faded, and it became a tourist attraction at Lake Kiriya. Due to her father’s work, Komiya Nonoka returns home to Lake Kiriya with her father, where she reunites with the mysterious girl, Noel. This reencounter between the two childhood friends causes time that had previously stopped to resume again.

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

Lake Kiriya is based on the town of Toyako, located inside the Shikotsu-Toya National Park; it is a town filled with bountiful natural splendor, surrounded by Lake Toya, Mt. Usu, and Uchiura Bay. The Toya-Usu UNESCO Global Geopark is Japan’s first UNESCO Global Geopark, a treasure trove of sightseeing resources that attracts around 3 million visitors a year. This area is dotted with many famous sightseeing spots, with locations such as the Sairo (Silo) Observation Deck where one can take in magnificent views, hot spring hotels big and small grouped near the Toyako Onsen, the Lake Toya Gurutto Sculpture Park (as pictured) — an open-air sculpture park containing 58 sculptures where visitors can enjoy nature at the same time — and many more.
