GIRLS BAND CRY

“Put all your anger, joy and sadness into it.”
The main character is a high school second-year student who has dropped out of school and is now in Tokyo on her own, aiming to get into university. A girl who’s been betrayed by her friends and doesn’t know what to do. A girl who’s been abandoned by her parents and is scraping by in the big city working part-time. This world always betrays us. Nothing goes the way we want it to. But we want to love something. We believe there’s a place for us. That’s why we sing.
A TV anime series produced by Toei Animation that features a real band. The story follows five girls with their own problems who form the rock band “Togenashi Togeari” and confront the absurdity of the world as they search for their own place in it.
The setting is Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture, a diverse city where people, things and events coexist, mix and fuse to create a unique form. By using a real location as the setting, the story reflects the atmosphere of the times and the city itself.
The visual expression is a full CG animation that uses the world’s most advanced illustrative look and full-frame. By reproducing the illustrations of the character designs by nari teshima in the animation as they are, and by achieving a high-definition expression with a greater amount of information than normal 3DCG animation processing, the charm and emotions of the characters, the musicality of the music, and the powerful and dynamic performance scenes have received high praise overseas.

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

In Kawasaki City, visitors can enjoy a variety of experiences ranging from music and sports to art. Among these, one of the best things to do is a factory night view tour.
Kawasaki, which was developed as an industrial city, is a major hub for advanced industrial technology in the coastal area, and is renowned as the place where factory night view tours started. The industrial zone offers various spectacular views for tourists with seven artificial islands, and 16 canals around the islands. From a tour bus on land, passengers can enjoy a dreamy, panoramic view of illuminated factories, which look like a space station, seen from the Metropolitan Expressway Kawasaki Line, the climax of the tour. From a houseboat in the canals, passengers can look at the factories from up close, and enjoy spectacular night views.
