Sightseeing Spot in This Area

In the hometown of Miyazawa Kenji — Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture — apart from Miyazawa Kenji Dowa Mura, there are other facilities where visitors may also find his footprints, for example, Miyazawa Kenji Memorial Museum, Miyazawa Kenji Ihatov Museum, and more. There are “Kenji Yukari No Chi Annaiban” (Information Boards of Places Associated with Kenji) in 30 places throughout the city that help visitors plan their route. Besides, when we talk about Hanamaki, the Hanamaki Hot Spring (as pictured) is also a charming attraction, with the Namari Hot Spring the inspiration for the “Namari No Yu” in Miyazawa’s fairy tale, Nametoko Yama No Kuma (The Bear of Nametoko Mountain).
