This is a spinoff of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, a title credited for the recent popularity of animes and light novels. This story is an easygoing school romantic comedy that takes place in the Koyoen area of Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture. While Nagato Yuki was a stoic girl in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, in this title she is portrayed as a girl who is full of emotion and in love. The title is distinctive in that themes of supernatural powers and aliens have been taken out, and all the characters are now merely “regular students”, so this title can be enjoyed by itself.

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

The literature circle of Kita High School went camping in a place, which is modeled after Nagano City. The anime depicts the streets surrounding the Nagano railroad station, Zenkoji temple, and other famous spots. Chausuyama Kyoryu Koen (Dinosaur Park) is a must-see. It accommodates 25 models of dinosaurs, and you can touch them and even get inside them to have fun. Countless children as well as adults have had a good times there. In addition, Nagano has the remains of Matsushiro Castle, Okususobana Valley, and many other lovely places not covered by the anime. They should be an enchanting addition to your Anime Trek.
