Summer Pockets

Torishirojima—A small island with rich, untouched nature.
Hairi Takahara, a high school boy, visits the island during his summer vacation to assist his maternal aunt, Misaki Kyoko, in sorting through the belongings of his late grandmother.

Hairi is mystified by the unfamiliar customs of island life. However, as he organizes his grandmother’s cherished belongings and connects with the various islanders, he begins to dread the end of the summer holidays.

I met a girl who gazed at the sea.
I met a girl searching for a mysterious butterfly.
I met a girl seeking to find memories and a pirate ship.
I met a girl who lived in a quiet lighthouse.

I made new friends on the island—I wish my summer vacation would never end.

This coming-of-age anime explores the recurring nostalgia and mysteries of a beautiful summer island, reminding us of the things we cherish most.

The story is set on a fictional island modeled after the real islands of Ogijima and Megijima in the Seto Inland Sea.

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

Ogijima is a small, picturesque island with a circumference of 7 km and renowned for its beautiful sunset. It features a unique scenery of shadows of densely built houses on the hillside which look like fish scales. At sunset, maze-like streets and settlements along stone walls show striking changes of scenery. Ogijima Lighthouse on the north end of the island is an unpainted structure made entirely of granite (Aji-ishi stone), which was built in 1895, and was designated as a National Important Cultural Property in 2026. It is highly admired for its all-stone, elegant look.
