FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Mako Kawai is a first-year university student living alone for the first time. Mako is too shy to talk to others and afraid of taking on any new challenges. She prefers keeping things as they are, and is just leading a calm university life with a low profile. However, she questions why she cannot bring herself to dine out alone, although she loves cooking and eating so much that she cooks for herself every day.
One day, Mako happens to meet Shinon Ogawa, a friend from elementary school, on the campus, and is invited to the “Food Culture Research Club” which Shinon has formed with Tsutsuji Higa and Kurea Furutachi. Although Mako turns down the offer at first, she decides to join the club in the hope that it could be an opportunity to change her personality. In reality, however, it’s a dummy club with a random name formed solely to secure a clubroom. The club immediately draws suspicion of a female university clerk, facing the threat of being disbanded the next day after it was formed.
Together with Nana Hoshi who joins the club later, the five women with different personalities enjoy eating, laughing together, and building a friendship in Hachioji, the setting of the story.

A mouth-watering, slice-of-life food anime based on an original draft by Atto, the creator of “Non Non Biyori,” and for which P.A.WORKS, an animation studio renowned for its exquisite food illustrations, went all out in the production.
