The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity

—Behind the curtain, is a world I never knew existed.

The low-ranking Chidori Public High School, a gathering of delinquents, is looked down on by the neighboring prestigious Kikyo Girls’ High School, and they have almost no interaction with each other. Kikyo always closes the curtains across the windows on the side of Chidori, so that the students of Chidori have never seen the inside of the classrooms of the neighboring school.
Rintaro Tsumugi, a student of Chidori, is avoided by others due to his intimidating look and tall body. He ends up staying away from others, and has not told even his relatively close classmates that his family runs a cake shop. One day, Kaoruko Waguri visits the cake shop when Rintaro is working there. Kaoruko secretly has feelings for Rintaro helping his family at the shop for a reason, and visits the cake shop frequently.
“I have never been scared of Rintaro.”
With some confusion, Rintaro comes to find comfort in the time spent with Kaoruko who treats him without looking down on him. But he cannot help hesitating because of the fact that Kaoruko is a student of Kikyo Girls’ High School.

A team of proficient staff worked on this anime under the director, Miyuki Kuroki. The anime was adapted by CloverWorks, a studio which has produced numerous smash-hit works. This is a school story depicting the vibrant youth of a boy and a girl who are “close, yet far apart.”

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

The library, which was opened in 1983, is situated next to “Takasuna Ryokuchi,” a picturesque green area with a Japanese-style garden in an area with a quiet, peaceful atmosphere in spite of its location near JR Chigasaki Station. The nostalgic but modern architecture warmly welcomes visitors, and the open ceiling space, sunlight through large windows and scenic views of rich natural surroundings are popular among those who know it. At the library often frequented by students, it looks like as if Rintaro and Kaoruko actually appeared there. It takes a 15-minute walk to the seaside of Shonan from the library, around which you can find some privately-owned shops. How about dropping by the library on your walk?
