ZatsuTabi : That’s Journey

Chika Suzugamori is a university student and aspiring manga artist who has recently won a newcomer manga award. She visits an editorial team of a publisher to present her three storyboards, but all of them are rejected. She returns home in a disheartened mood. Later, when she is feeling stuck in her room, she gets a sudden urge to go on a journey.
Just then, she sees a travel show on the television, in which guests are rolling a die to decide where to visit. She posts a social media poll to ask where she should go on a journey. The poll posted by her with little thought is given surprisingly lots of responses, and she realizes that there is no turning back. Following the poll result, “Up from Tokyo,” she decides her destination and sets off on her unplanned, unprepared journey…

Sightseeing Spot in This Area

Nasukarasuyama City, which is situated in the eastern part of Tochigi Prefecture and is a 50-minute train ride from Utsunomiya by the JR Karasuyama Line, features the national historic site “Karasuyama Castle Ruins,” sightseeing spots such as the “Cave Sake Brewery” and “Ryumon Falls,” and local dishes such as “Yamizo soba.” The city is famous for the “Yamaage Festival,” an outdoor Kabuki performance held in summer which has more than 460 years of history, and is known as a sanctuary of “Meguro,” the former popular motorcycle manufacturer.
